Charity Car Show & Croquetas for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

The second annual Cars & Croquetas event is set to hit Coconut Grove once again. Not only is this a classic car show and street party, but it’s notably a fundraiser dedicated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). The initiative is spearheaded by Michael Beltran, renowned chef, and the proprietor of Ariete Hospitality Group. Michael’s motivation to orchestrate this event springs from his mother’s acute myeloid leukemia (AML) diagnosis two years prior. He stresses the significance of raising funds for LLS and contributing to finding cures for these cancers. Since the event’s successful inception, it has returned for a second year with free entry, this time anchored by local radio host, Lucy Lopez who was “best MC in 2020” by New Times.

Enrich your palate at the event with a wide range of foods, from frita sliders by K-Town and Beltran’s own Chug’s Dinner, to offbeat options like buffalo chicken croquetas with Doritos crumbs by Chug’s, Frito pie croquetas by USBS (United States Burger Service), and bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches by Chug’s, as well as pastelitos by Pastelito Papi. Enhance the gastronomic experience with coffee from Imperial Moto or cocktails by Una Vodka and Brugal, featuring “Brugal Carajillo” and “Una Vodka Arnold Palmer.” For just $25, attendees can participate in a raffle for an opportunity to win a range of splendid prizes, including dining experiences at Ariete, Luca Osteria, Zak the Baker, Pubbelly Sushi, Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop, and Kush Hospitality. Other attractive raffle prizes include a membership at Lion Heart Boxing Gym and premium cigar boxes from Aganorsa Leaf, E.P. Carrillo, and Padron. Adding to the excitement is an exclusive auction for a dinner for two prepared by chef Beltran right at the winner’s home, featuring a gourmet four-course tasting menu paired with select wines.

Classic car lovers can secure a spot for $35 through eventbrite.com or on the spot on the day of the event to exhibit their custom vehicles. There’s more than cars and croquetas, as guests also have the opportunity to be part of a live recording of Chef Beltran’s Pan Con Podcast and the Car Show Awards. All collected funds from the event will be donated directly to LLC to aid in ongoing cancer research. The Cars & Croquetas event is headed for 3140 Grand Ave., Miami, behind Chug’s Diner. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m on Sunday, March 10, with the raffle draw starting at noon. Confirm your attendance for free via eventbrite.com.
