Prohibition-Era Speakeasy Red Phone Booth Debuts in Brickell

Miami has welcomed yet another exclusive club, but this one demands entry via a vibrant crimson telephone booth. Conceived by the Weber Bros. Hospitality group, Red Phone Booth is raising the bar with a prohibition-style speakeasy that is only accessible through a refurbished, bright red phone booth straight from the streets of London. They have already launched their unique speakeasy in Atlanta, Nashville, and Dallas, but have now brought their concept to Brickell. Delightfully hidden behind the Financial District Station Metromover, a radiant red phone booth welcomes guests – but only if they have a secret phone number secured either from a member of their other locations or an extremely accommodating hotel concierge.

Once they have gained entry, guests discover a two-storey, 6,000-square-foot sanctuary as cozy as it is surprising. The 1920s-inspired interior design features vintage pieces such as 100-year-old reclaimed wood walls which transport guests back in time.

A visual treat awaits on the first floor, featuring a honey onyx bar framed by fireplaces, bespoke Italian leather couches, hand-painted ceilings, and a walk-in humidor boasting over 200 different cigars. The decor continues seamlessly onto the second floor, aptly named the “Mafia Room,” which includes a private bar, pool table, poker table, and flat-screen TVs.

But the real allure of a speakeasy lies in the cocktails, and Red Phone Booth doesn’t disappoint. The cocktail list is extensive, including creations like the gin-based “Left Bank Martini,” which incorporates Sauvignon Blanc into the traditional martini, and the scotch-based “Never Say No,” a delicious twist on the classic Manhattan. Besides cocktails, the speakeasy offers over 400 different spirits, including exotic bourbon, scotch, tequila, and Japanese whiskies.

Pair your cocktail with Italian small plates featuring favorites like “Stuffed Peppadew Peppers,” “Polpette,” and “Insalata di Bistecca,” or go local with the “Brickell Shrimp Pizza.” To note, Red Phone Booth is primarily a members-only club, with memberships from $400 for individuals to $7,500 for corporate groups. Members enjoy private tastings, classes with industry leaders, and a special side entrance – very speakeasy indeed! If you’re lucky enough to get the secret phone number, you can try your luck as a walk-in. The Red Phone Booth is now open at 1010 Brickell Ave., Unit 105, Miami.
