Thunder Defeats Raptors in Double OT Comeback

Scores, Updates, and Timings for NBA Games

In a nail-biting NBA basketball matchup, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder, was seen attempting a shot over Gary Trent Jr., guard for the Toronto Raptors, in the first half of the game on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, in Oklahoma City.

Josh Giddey scored a total of 24 points while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 23, helping the Oklahoma City Thunder reverse a 23-point deficit and defeat the Toronto Raptors 135-127 in an exciting double overtime match on Sunday night. Players Chet Holmgren and Lu Dort also made major contributions with each scoring 22 points. Aaron Wiggins helped boost the Thunder score with an additional 20 points, setting the season record for the Thunder at 35-15. A team record was also established when the Thunder made 23 3-pointers out of 63 attempts.

RJ Barrett took the lead for Toronto with 23 points while Scottie Barnes, Jakob Poeltl, and ex-Thunder guard Dennis Schroder each added 19 points. The Raptors secured 14 out of 35 3-pointers.

During the second overtime round, Dort earned six points, with his 3-pointer securing a 121-118 lead for the Thunder. He later converted a 3-point play, boosting the score to 127-123.

In an impressive display, Gilgeous-Alexander hit a 3-pointer to level the score at 118 during the first overtime. He also blocked a key shot by Gary Trent, which could have resulted in a win for the Raptors.

Aaron Wiggins’ crucial layup brought the score to a tie at 110 with just 4.7 seconds to spare in the regular time causing Barret to miss a 3-pointer as time ran out.

The Thunder missed 18 of their initial 25 3-point attempts in the first half and were trailing by 16 points at half time. The Raptors had a substantial 76-53 lead in the third quarter before the Thunder bounced back with a 17-2 surge and closed the gap to 78-72 with barely 3:02 left on the clock.

Jalen Williams and Isaiah Joe, players from the Thunder, had to sit out for the third consecutive game due to injuries. Williams, who is the second top scorer for the team, and Joe who leads the Thunder in making 3-pointers were dearly missed in this match.
